These images are of a Philco Ford 9 Transistor AM/FM radio. I got it new for my 10th birthday (I'm 52 now.) Just for grins I put a fresh battery in it and...nothing. So I took it apart (first two images.) I tried putting a low voltage across the speaker and it crackled a little bit, telling me the speaker is probably good. The third image shows the assembled unit in its original leather case. And as a bonus, I found an original radio and TV station listing which was at the bottom of the leather case. This shows you the abundant station choices we had in the Boston (MA)-Providence (RI) listening area.
There doesn't appear to be any model number anywhere in or on the unit or case. ***I am curious what the model number is, if there is one.*** Also any ideas on what might be wrong? I looked at the circuit board under a magnifying glass as well as the battery connector for any loose or disconnected wires. I am pretty good with a soldering iron and would fix this radio if I only know where to start. Sorry, I don't have the original owner's manual which would probably help as these old manuals usually had schematic diagrams in them.
