Ive been having my eyes on this one since the weekend , im not sure if is or is not kralik or Bohemian , i dont know really nothing about these at all i did clean this out so you could have a better look as well so someone from this type maybe could help me , i do have a question do these types glass have air bubbles in them as well . 'THANKYOU VERY MUCH ALFREDO FOR THE CONFORMATION AND THE DATING ON THIS AS WELL.DATES 1900.

do you mean controlled airbubbles or just do you find bubbles in them? I haven't handled a lot of thorn pieces but to me they look like whimseys and wouldn't have been the top notch glass you'd have found elsewhere necessarily so yeah, I expect airbubbles in the glass would be considered normal quality for these. YMMV

Hi Sean, Yes bubbles are norm..some burt during the process and some dont..i call the "unburted ones" controlled bubbles... i am no expert on the thorn vases but i have a hunch it's Czech by the house of Kralik.... i could be wrong i hope this helps... maybe LeahG will see it and give her opinion shes GREAT with this type of glass...either way fantastic find my friend!!

Hey Bellin68, what a cutie of a thorn. Because the shape is not documented in the BB catalog or else where, it can't be determined if it is Kralik or Bohemian. However, I understand why you would think Kralik and the origin is Bohemian. Alfredo and I have shared a (love) interest for thorn vases which his beautiful collection can be viewed here on CW and as anyone who views his thorn collection will see all shapes are documented from the Butler Brother catalogs. Your thorn of course is not a documented shape. As time moves forward, research does evolve and maybe this shape will appear. Many thorn vases were a popular export from the Bohemian market to the USA and UK. Made in a variety of colours and various shapes. As far as the British market goes, I've only seen vaseline opalescent and crystal clear thorn (stick or aka tube) vases that are attributed to Webb. Kralik certainly knew how to market this organic shape for a number of years. For me, I would certainly say your thorn is Bohemian from my own experience and yes, it could very well be from Kralik. It is helpful for collectors to keep in mind it is common to find chips on thorns and as well as on the applied base. To find a thorn that is absolutely mint is rare. Nice find overall, Bellin68. As many thorns as I have handled, this is a new colour variation and form to me. Thanks, for sharing. :)

In Monograph 121 there is a much better illustration of the frog, and of my tall vaseline single. Given the evidence, I still say it is Kralik. I have a similar one in purple shading to light lavender, transparent.
