A 1 bell alarm clock approximately 4-3/32" in diamiter x 6-1/4" high
Back is marked, Made in USA, in a small circle is, Patd. Oct. 28. 1902, Dec. 15. 1905, May 15. 1906, June 4. 1907, Patents PDG.
4" paper dial marked, G. E. Parker, Jeweler, Angles Camp, Cal.
I'm not sure of the maker of the clock. I haven't been able to remove the feet to get the movement out.
Angels Camp, Ca. also nicknamed, Angels City & City of Angels is a central California foothill city, settled in 1848 and incorporated in 1912. The building in which the George E. Parker Watchmaker & Jewelers was located' was previously the first post office built in 1851. I'm not sure when he occupied this location. This building still stands today.
Mark Twain based his short story "The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County" on a story he claimed he heard at the Angels Hotel in 1865. It still has a "Frog Jumping Jubilee" every year. Since Mark Twains story the town has been nicknamed "Frogtown".
