Czech art glass vase form the 1920's 30's...Art Deco Czech Exported glass....this vase i have had since the begining of my facination of Czech art glass bought from a Thrift store in Dallas Texas about 18 yrs ago.. it is unmarked and it stands 8 1/2" tall and 5" wide at widest upper mid section.. spatter decor with olive like green interior.. it has always been one of my favorites because of the mold blown shape and colors in this piece..not that many have surfaced.. it is a real treasure to own.

Hi Czechman, the yellow vase I've been waiting for arrived today. It has a pronounced inward angle on its foot. From your photos it looks the same. They look so alike do you think they're likely by the same ('unknown' at present) maker?

Hi VF, It does appear to be the same, which is why i posted my link to your post.. as far as maker, no way to determine.. best to call it "Czech art deco for export.. ca. 1920's 30's" as with most Czech deco era glass.. despite what one man and 3-4 of his followers say..

Thanks CM, thanks for your link, I thought they looked very similar, hadn't noticed the inward slant on base. I've seen another one on CW, sorry, can't remember who's now, it looked the same but a bit slimmer, it could've just looked that way in the photo, i did comment but don't think i got an answer, hopefully the person will see this, if its the same there's a few around.
I guessed the date based only on the look of this vase i have..

Its much thicker & with a clear layer (i think?), they're different shapes & types of vases, but construction looks similar and their bases, other than the inward angle. May i ask why you think its Czech?
& if any other countries exported to the UK in such quantity from late Victorian period onward?
    Thank you:)

Hi Czechman, found my tape measure. My yellow one measures just under 7 1/2" high by 3 1/2 across, is yours is 8 1/2" or is that a guesstimate?:)
  11. Vintagefran Vintagefran, 9 months ago
If your measurement is accurate, maybe they're not by the same maker, mines a fair bit smaller.

Fran, My measurement is stated above.. yours being smaller in size doesnt mean its by a diff maker.. im sure this shape came in different sizes... again, no one knows the maker of this Vase! call it Czech art deco era glass which is what it is.. and be done with it, and be happy to have it, and enjoy it for what it is..

Ahh it was Warrens:) thank you. I thought after commenting that, that i bet they made them in different sizes. I've altered the title & removed the ? thanks for your help on this one. I guess its not an uncommon vase to appear here 3 times.

Hi Gary, i don't know if you saw my post, but however common they maybe there's now 1 less :( i imagine eventually over time they'll be fewer & fewer. I just wanted to add, and please delete this comment if you want, that I've not even looked at the 'debate' on the scorpion vases. Tbh i don't mind who they're by. I told Leah, when i have the time & can face it I'll delete all irrelevant comments, just thought I'd let you know as i know you contributed & don't want anyone to feel put out.
