Hi and thanks for having a look at my unusual watch.
It has a Swiss Made steel case in which when both ends are squeezed together the watch pops open and is able to stand in the upright position.
The movement is French made as it states this on the dial, the only visible marking I can see with a 30 x Loupe are the numbers 790 behind the balance wheel. There are no other markings anywhere that I can see.
On the inside of the case back are the usual horologist markings of parts replaced or service done etc. The date 1858 is engraved inside the case back, it could though be 1/8/58 or 1858 could be a part number I do not know.
I do know its French Made, I know Jaeger LeCoultre ( a partnership of 2 french watchmakers) make a Reverso and to me this looks similar in design if it is a very early piece.
Has anyone ever seen one of these before? I haven't.
Can anyone tell me anything about it?
Would you agree it resembles a Reverso just a bit!
