This is one of those things you hear about but never has happened to you...stories! I was out doing my usual treasure hunt on Saturday at the local garage sales. I was looking for some old salts to use as marble holders since I had bought a few shooters to go with the rest I have. I came across this planter filled with banged up, chipped, cracked, tore up from the floor up salts. I figured for $1 I could still use them even in there bad condition until I found something better to use. I ask the gentleman if the planter was included, he said no but that I could have it anyways...I didnt give it another thought until just the other day. Dont get me wrong, I loved the planter with the crazy cool cat on all sides. Well just for fun I went to google images to see if there were any more out there and WHOA!!! The first image to come up was of my planter that sold at Cowan Auctions (Wes Cowan from Antiques Roadshow is the owner) in 2007 for over $80. Im not sure of the true value of the planter only that it was listed as a rare Mckee piece. I was almost ready to put it in the garage for next years sale, whew Im glad I looked this one up! But can you believe it, IT WAS FREE!!!
