I found this old wood box at a house clean out. If possible, I would like to identify it and any help is greatly appreciated. The box is made of wood with dovetailed corners and rope handles on each side. It has two large iron latches, and the letter X running the full length of the front of the box. Below is additional information that is inscribed on the front of the box:

B 28 12R (these 3 numbers are enclosed in a circle)

Obviously an explosives box. I don't really know much about the cases but guess the "C.C." in "I.C.C." stands possible for cratering charge. The only reason I guess at this is because when I lived in Jamaica, the Brits. used cratering charges for blowing holes in the clandestine ganja landing strips & left the boxes behind. Lot of "bush-bars" used the crates for stools around make-shift tables. Of course the holes in the runways were quickly filled. I saw a lot of them but never paid much attention. It does look familiar.
