My old Tri-ang minic railway from the 1950's battery powered or you could use a transformer on it, the yellow card with the track drawn on it. the track vibrated and the train moved around, there's some sort of fiber under the engine and carriages that caused this to happen. sadly this no longer works the motor is worn out.little green painted pine trees went in holes in the hilly bits, still have them, the gates were used to change the path of the train.
