Can anyone tell me anything about this chair? I bought it several years ago and don't know much about it. The seller told me that it was from the 1920s. It has the original (I think) upholstery underneath...thanks!!

Beautiful chair Jengmomof3.
Thank you!!
It looks very similar to a George Hunzlinger chair
Mustangtony, where would I find a Hunzlinger stamp if it was one?
Sorry my typo - it is Hunzinger not Hunzlinger. George Hunzinger made chairs in New York from 1855 to his death in 1898. If it is a Hunzinger chair look for either a name Hunzinger and patent date stamped in the wood or some had a brass plate tacked on. Check the bottom of the seat and the inside parts of the bottom legs.
Your rocking chair is called a 'Dexter Rocking Chair' and is from around the period you were told. Here are a couple of links that will help you with your research......:-)
