After seeing the collections of interesting vintage handbills and magic posters, I found a slight mix of both. This handbill is designated FD-65 and headlined Big Brother & The Holding Co., Canned Heat Blues Band, and Congress of Wonder at The Avalon Ballroom June 8th-11th, 1967. Copyright 1967 Family Dog Productions. I bought 11 different handbills or post cards from Family Dog Productions and they just arrived today. These will look great displayed with my posters and take less space and smaller frames.

Thank you for love Bellin68, now we all know the date and we already know what you like. Big Bellin68 b-day bash : )
Matty, surprised it does headline Janis Joplin on this. She was with Big Brother and the Holding Co. at this time.
oops, should say "doesn't"
Good point Kerry, maybe the reason she left to go solo. I even took a look back at the albums and not really headlined on them either. Even on the Cheap Thrills album it only has a small cartoon on right middle saying, "vocals by Janis Joplin"
Hi MattyG:
I have one of these, too, but yours in in better shape. Saw Big Brother a bunch of times in the late 60s. I don't think Janis left the band until 69. When this was printed, their big hits were Bye Bye Baby, Down on Me, and Women Is Losers, but I always liked the poppy-beat of Caterpillar. ;-)

Thanks Phil !
GREAT piece!
