Recently ended a very long drought of not buying anything coke related due to serious financial restrictions placed on me by "The Boss".
When she was'nt looking I pulled the trigger on this little beaut. that I've been looking for for quite some time.

Lighting it up with the new 4w L.E.D.'s, supposed to last 24 yrs! and use very little hydro, but lots of money up-front.

I'm adding gas to the fire by hanging it in the kitchen instead of my "coke room", so if you don't hear from me again, it's been

Update: The clock was returned rather quickly to the Games Room after the "Boss" voiced her displeasure in my "treasures" leaving the confines of the gamesroom!

You do realize this is a new clock, not old, not from the 50s. Just making sure you know what you bought Bernie.
  10. pickrknows pickrknows, 7 months ago
Hey Ray, the stamp on the back says 6-9, is that not the date code?
  11. TGBWC TGBWC, 7 months ago
Don't know what that means, just know these are new clocks, meant to look old. Several have shown up on eBay in the last few years.
  12. pickrknows pickrknows, 7 months ago
Thats where I fell-in- love with them Ray, I've seen a few pass through and go for good money, so I've been keeping a watch for a decent one ever since. The case is definately Pam, and the glass is well marked with the Pam logo on the bottom. Are these at least made by Pam?
  13. TGBWC TGBWC, 7 months ago
I believe these were manufactured by Pam. Pam manufactures a lot of re-issue, reproduction, as well as (fantasy) clocks like this one. Still a solid manufactured clock, just not old. :(
  14. pickrknows pickrknows, 7 months ago
Thanks for the info Ray! I am from now on going to make you my director of purchasing for the games room project, since I just got fired by the "BIG BOSS LADY"! We are starting with a budget of -$0 dollars, so I can't pay you for your help(except maybe in beer or Coca-cola).
    Interested? :)
  15. TGBWC TGBWC, 7 months ago
Yes. Before you buy that next fantasy Pam clock or that repro fishtail rack sign or even those repro ink blotters, make sure you run them by me BEFORE you purchase them.
  16. pickrknows pickrknows, 7 months ago
Thanks Ray, I knew I should have asked first!!
If you and early did'nt already have all the good stuff, there would be no market for the repro's!
I'm putting you on speed-dial right now, but don't stand by your phone as the next purchase could now be months away :)Maybe March??
  17. TGBWC TGBWC, 7 months ago
So...does the "Boss" know that you pulled the trigger on a $___________(fill in the blank) new, Coca-Cola clock?
  18. pickrknows pickrknows, 7 months ago
Don't be getting me in trouble Ray, I can do that on my own!. Of coarse she knows(it was in the kitchen for a full day), she just need'nt know every little detail. How "new " are we talking? I was thinking when I bought this it was late '60's, early '70's?
  19. TGBWC TGBWC, 7 months ago
More like 2005. Pam Clock Company went out of business in the 1970s. So disregard my earlier comment about Pam manufacturing re-issues. Another company is producing these clocks under the Pam name. You won't find this clock in any old literature or old photos. And every time you see one for sale, they're always in mint condition.

Very little is known about the Pam Clock Company. What information was gathered is based upon a review of business directories ca. 1940-1976. The Pam Clock Company had various production facilities in Brooklyn, New Rochelle and Mt. Vernon, New York, between the early 1940s to mid-seventies. Their main product was "bulb illuminated" advertising clocks which were made of aluminum, glass and metal. The common types found today have round (15" diameter) pressed aluminum or square (15"x15") pressed steel cases with domed glass covers.

The advertising design was reverse painted on the back of the translucent face glass. Many different companies including Coca-Cola purchased these clocks to advertise their products. Examples included soft drinks, beer, milk, shoes, motor oil, spark plugs, paints, meats, bread and medicine.

The clocks used a simple electric motor to turn the hour, minute and seconds hands. Two fifteen-watt light bulbs illuminated the translucent face glass from behind. The light bulbs could be changed by swinging open the two round access panels behind the clock. The instruction label found on the back of the clock recommended light bulbs no higher than fifteen watts. Unfortunately, clocks are often found today missing this label and with higher wattage bulbs than recommended. The excessive heat caused browning and peeling of the advertising.

The Pam Clock Company made three significant and highly collectible Coca-Cola clocks in the 1950s. These are identified as the Sun Bottle clock, the Red and Green Bottle clock and the red Dot clock.

Just to clarify Bernie, your clock is most likely old. Just the clock face has been produced. There was never an original Pam "hand holding a Coke cup" clock. So you most likely have an original old Pam clock...with a new face.

Thanks Ray, another addition to the frankencoke collection.
My two fav. eyecatching clocks are both stinkers, this and the silloette girl. Can you chime in for me on the fishtail? Could be 2 strikes in one week!
  23. TGBWC TGBWC, 7 months ago
Sorry to say your fishtail is also a fake. These are being produced in India. All have the same "aged" marks and similar scratches on the back side.

Maybe you should change your name to pickrdontknows. :)

great looking clock, even if it is a frankencoke.

Thanks for the nice comments collectit and jahnkekong, I still love this clock also, can't beat the detail and color of the graphics on these "fakers", and it is kept running constantly with no worries of diminishing it's value!!
