I was told that it was part of the Chrysler Building lobby collection and bought at an auction in the 70's. I'd love to confirm this but I can't seem to find any evidence of this. It's obviously deco but I'm not sure of the maker. I would really appreciate any help. Thank you so, so much.

This is obviously a one off piece, take the marble off and turn it upside down, inside out, there has to be a makers mark somewhere, it's too well done not to be signed.
I showed this to a lady who is an expert in art deco era furniture and she could not identify it so you are right about needing to be a genius.....It may comfort you to know that she wants it for her house....she said its beautiful
You would need to do some sluthing. Start researching the Chrysler building, and looking for any interior pictures. If it was from there, should be some ictures some where of it or matching pieces. Difinately the same period.
