very cool art pottery i found tonight at goodwill $1.99 , i believe this to be by one person , i dont think this was massed produced . theres no markers mark at all , i just love this very much , its just very unique in its own way. different ,odd , but unbelievable cool:)

$1.99! Great find. The patterns are similar to ones that we were using in European Product Designs in the early 1980's. If it's not locally made craft piece (looks too good for that) then it could be Italian?

It reminded me of things that the 'Memphis' group were doing in the early 80's - Collective of vibrant designers from different design disciplines. That said, their influence was huge. I did initialy wonder if it was a peice of 'Alessi' from the same period? Unfortunately I no longer have catalogues from that period - I will keep looking though - I'm convinced I've seen something very similar!

One of the Memphis group's main designers was Ettore Sottsass who went on to design for Alessi. (Pattern is very similar to Memphis 'Bacterium' - Alessi occassionaly have fun with animals in their designs) It seems to be of the style but could just be a one off ? - nice all the same. I love the black and white vase behind it - who's that by?
