Picked up these 2 chairs from a retirement home after the owner passed away. I am in the process of re-upholstering them, but would like to know how old they are. under 3 layers of upholstery and a million tacks they were covered in grass and hair?? The wood is VERY soft. any info would be appreciated.

Mohair and hay probably. I am guessing...repeat...guessing...1880s to 1910 timeframe. These are nice. What fabric are you going to use?
Just something modern. a bright floral for the one with flowers and a silk stripe for the oval backed one. the body of the chairs are being sanded and will be a cream and aqua.
