This is my mystery brass box found on the street, my guess is some sort of portable heating device. It measures 12 inches wide, by 8 inches deep and is 7 inches tall, seems to be made of brass or copper fairly heavy or sturdy gauge. It has a white ceramic handle on the top, a heavy duty clasp and a side drawer also with a ceramic pull. The box has a decorative vent that appears on three sides. I'm in San Francisco so I wonder if it is Victorian? Thank you in advance for any help on this.
