This beautifully painted small trunk [6" across and 4" tall] has some age. you can tell by the difference in oxidation of the paint on the top vs. the inside and even the outer sides. i'd say that it's at least 60-70 years old, maybe a lot older. I'd love to know more about it. can anyone tell where it's from by the style of painting?
it appears to have had a locking mechanism which was removed - unfortunately.

the detail on this little box is great! i love the insert box and all the carefully painted surfaces. there appears to be some writing on the bottom, but i can't make it out.
