I remember the day I won the bid on this apothocary jar. I couldnt wait to get my hands on it and do the research. Everything about it screamed quality, and I was right. It was made by the Empoli Co., an Italian Glass company. From what I can find they have stores in New York, where to my opinion is where alot of the art glass originated since the ports to the U.S. were there. It stands almost 13" tall by 6" wide at the center with that gorgeous scalloped top and lid around 3 1/2" wide. I believe this was made in the 50's but not sure. There are what appear to be cracks or stretch marks in the glass around the bottom that I could not capture on camera. They say Empoli, Italy and I believe the artist name although Im still trying to decipher that one. I have looked at some of the Empoli line online and the prices are everywhere. I havent found this exact one but some close to it. I have seen these get up to the $1,200 range so far. But I won it online for $31.00. Needless to say I am very pleased to own such a beautiful example of Empoli glass. Thanks.

Thank you hornet, I know its made by Empoli due to the signature hidden in the glass. It says "Empoli Made In Italy" & I think who the artist was. It was very hard to decipher, but its there. Found out they hid the signature one day doing research. I would like to know a value if anyone knows...
Hi Jay .
I find some interesting news about Empoli glass .
there are 2 glassware : S A Etrusca (Empoli) and Taddei 1930 . Thei use common green glass (the one in use for make bottle , glass goblet during 1920) . Thei try to do Roman/Etrusco style glass to step up our production in more quality .
