This is an 18K yellow gold Toi et Moi ring.
Toi et Moi", or "you and me" rings were popular in the late Victorian and Edwardian periods. They always feature a pair of stones, representing the twining of two souls. They have always been popular as engagement rings.
This ring has 2 rose cut foiled back center diamonds and 2 sets of four smaller diamonds (the smallest two are missing). The smaller diamonds are set in a silver or white gold setting.
Maybe it's just me, but I love the rustic look of this ring...
Does anyone have an idea of the exact age of this ring? The foiled back settings makes me think its more like georgian or early victorian.
