Ah, the '74 sox. Actually it was the '75 Sox that were the highlight of my Fenway Faithful career, but it was pretty much the same team except for '75 rookies Jim Rice and Fred Lynn.
Wow, what a great set of guys.. I can still hear Ned Martin and Jim Woods on WMEX rattling off the names - Carbo, Burleson, Yaz, Fisk... I'd be listening with a tall glass of Coke, sweat beading on the glass in the humid summer air, humming the TV jingle ('take your shoes off, put your feet up, its time to meet up with the Boston Red Sox'). What can I say? I was ten...
