OK, Where is my rocket powered flying car? All the Popular Science, Mechanix Illustrated and like magazines from the 40's and 50's promised me I would have a jet pack to get to work and I am still waiting dammit!

The 1939 Worlds Fair in New York was no exception. All the exhibitors were ready to give everyone a crystal ball view into the future.

General Motors was at the forefront with a huge pavillion and show called Futurama.

I found this souvenier booklet and lapel pin this weekend. It has been added to my 1939 Mercury dime bank in my smalls case.
Thought you might enjoy seeing it.

Somewhere in the cosmos this dream of ours went up in smoke and all we have left are futuristic things which are Antiques now, and the irony is complete. Wonderful post, we were so shortchanged !~Phil.
