This, I believe, was my great aunt's that was given to my mother. The band says it's 18K with the letters H.G.E and a hallmark that looks like a V in a diamond shape. Not sure what type of stone it is either. Not sure the age, possibly 70's?

The HGE means 'heavy gold electroplate', possibly over sterling. The V and diamond probably is Vargas. The Vargas Manufacturing Company was founded in Providence, RI in 1945. It is assumed that the company ceased operations in 1980. You can check for this setting and maybe get an age for it. I know this one is before the early '70's because of when I first saw it, but that's about all I can tell you.

The ring looks like it may be from the 1940s and the stone is probably synthetic or crystal / glass.

Thanks, davyd! I figured as much with the stone, but was unsure of the age!
