Mudmen are brightly glazed (or not) figurines of men, women, wise men and old sages, seated or standing, holding flutes, scrolls, pots, fish, geese and other objects of mystical importance or sometimes fishing. Thet have been made for at least 1,000 years. Today, the most important figures date from the Victorian era. The above pieces much later probably from the 1950's - 60's.
