Triomphe Vintage Hood Ornament, With Wings and Motometer

Something put together for show and for the essence of what car mascots became with the use of a motometer and an actual hood ornament circa 1925.

Wish there was a category for car mascots as this fits in with that as a category far better than hood ornaments does.

The Design for the Triomphe hood ornament was conceived by one of the best art deco sculptors of the period, F. Bazin, and he was considered probably as the finest, as his pieces if signed, go for the big bucks. The design on this piece has very fine detail. even in the straights of his hair.

Hey Phil ... is this figure somewhat [conceptually] reminiscent of your "Packard Goddess of Speed" deco mascot? Both are beautiful with graceful lines.

More or less -- Bazin pretty much set the bar for what male dieties and female goddesses looked like, this is the male version.
