Hi, the motif is Chinese, based on the trim and ornamentation, but without marks, can't say if it was made in China. It's not jade, from the pictures it could be porcelain or glass, guessing glass. Perhaps gold leaf decoration applied unprofesionally after manufacture. I'm not much help here, maybe someone who has seen a similar piece can comment. Good luck, Jim

my opinion for what its worth

possibly marble or could be jade but the pictures are hard to see...is it heavy in proportion to its size or really really light...? you can't possibly say its not Jade by the photos alone...it looks more Jade or marble than porcelain or glass...

that dirt, is it erosion on the inside is that through to the vase material?

a lot of 19th and 20th century fakers place dirt on Chinese "type" pots to make them look like they've just come out of the ground...the dead give away is the gold is really really shiny, you would expect to see that tarnished

    any marks on the base?

its very pretty no matter what it is, do you mind saying how you came upon it in such condition?

It is extremely cold it is vary heavy it translucent it has to be some kind of mineral defiantly not marble I took my Diamond tester and touched the gold part an it gave me a reading of diamond I thought that was vary odd
