I got this vintage canvas Boy Scout knapsack awhile back, and it was super cheap. Like maybe $1.
It's around 15 inches top to bottom, so a little small on me, but solidly made and perfect for a day-hike bag. I'm curious if anyone can date the bag style, possibly using the Boy Scouts insignia or the "No. 1225 Day Hike" bag label on the back. I love the "PROPERTY OF -----" label with a place for your name/address/troop number.

I had one of these around 56 or 58. Not sure what happened to it but I still have some of the other stuff from when I was in the boy scouts. I would say your date is on target.

I got one of those as well as a messenger bag from an acquaintance for free! Then just a few years ago I saw a canteen at a good will for 3 dollars!
