Winged Mascot Radiator Cap From France
An extra mascot I was lucky to aquire from an Automobile Auction in France, I believe the auction was Oct. 14, in France at a newer auction called Osenat.
This piece is different from most other winged mascots in that there is separation of the feathers, which I have not seen before, and certainly never seen one like this before. I love it. So much character and pride with this piece. If it works with accomadation, I will add another piece to it to make for a very interesting and beautiful mascot. There seems to be a tip of the feather missing but that does not bother me, as it has minor loss considering how unusual this piece is. When I see a piece like this that I have never seen before, after looking and scanning thousand of images, I feel that it is a very rare mascot !~
More research has provided a link in a book that I have called Mascot Fantasies. I am not sure if it is just a book by the author of a lot of unusual and rare pieces the author has not seen or what. The book is filled with these copies which are 3rd or 5th generation copies meaning the author probably never had the catalogs these were photocopied from. This piece is shown on the top of the page. Since I changed over to windows 8, it took away my ability to scan.

Nice Phil!! How many of these beauties do you have now? I can't decide which I like best. I love how these wings look like when a bird of prey is snatching up a fish or rabbit. The quick slowdown from a dive. Very intimidating!
very beautiful Phil:)
I never count them and therefore aquiring a new one is always justified, Amber.
Excellent plan. I like your thinking.
