I think this was originally a kerosene lamp and the font was removed and a electric kit was installed. The kit had to be almost contemporary to the lamp; it has early Hubbell sockets. The opening at the top of the shade is large enough to accomodate a chimney. Shade could be Bent Glass Novelty Co., Handel or Sechrist. Base looks like Meriden, Miller or B&H. Would love to hear comments as to the maker, I always want to learn more.
