Yet another of our favourite eBay finds. This stunning 24 carat gold hand painted wire net vase by Helena Wolfsohn of Dresden is simply breathtaking and dates from between 1850 to 1870. Helena was the top Hausmaeler or House Decorator in Dreseden during the 19th century and she often purchased blanks from Meissen untill they took her to court in 1873 to stop her using their mark. This piece carries the mark of AR or Augustus Rex the Strong, first King of Saxony. I paid a mere $20 AUD for this piece with its current retail value sitting around $7 to 10000 AUD. Not bad if you know what to look for huh?
