SUNDAY AFTERNOON, ABOUT 4 HOURS BEFORE THE ELECTRICITY WENT OUT IN NYC, A PACKAGE WAS LEFT AT OUR DOOR. IT WAS A BIRTHDAY GIFT FOR ABER, THE OWL COLLECTOR, WHICH I IMMEDIATELY APPROPIATED.
FOR IT HAPPENED TO BE A KRALIK 8.75" TALL OWL DECANTER IN BRIGHT VASELINE YELLOW WITH RUBY RED WINGS, TIP AND TAIL. NO PONTIL. I ONLY WISH I COULD PLACE IT IN AN ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT BASE!
THE MOUTH OF THE BOTTLE IS BEVELED FOR A STOPPER, WHICH MUST HAVE BEEN MINUTE, TO JUDGE BY THE SIZE OF THE OPENING. ABER FOUND OUT THE HEAD COULD STAND AS A DRINKING GLASS.
THE QUILTED PATTERN IS A KRALIK MARKER.
I PLACED IT WHERE WE COULD LOOK AT IT FOR THE 5 OR 6 DAYLIGHT HOURS WE WERE HAVING. AND I FINALLY TOOK PICTURES TODAY,
IT OCCURS TO ME THAT IF YOU CANNOT BE A HIGH-END COLLECTOR, YOU MIGHT AS WELL BE A FUN WITH GLASS COLLECTOR.
WE HAVE NAMED IT--WHAT ELSE? -- SANDY!

Interesting piece of glass!
I hope that all is well for you and getting back to normal, Alfredo.

This is FABULOUS!
NYC WILL TAKE QUITE A WHILE TO GO BACK TO NORMAL. FLOODED TUNNELS, NO FOOD IN SUPERMARKETS BECAUSE SUPPLIES CANNOT GET THROUGH, A 1% BUREAUCRATIC MAYOR WHO THREATENS TO TAKE PAY AWAY FROM WORKERS IF THEY DO NOT SHOW UP FOR WORK THOUGH HALF OF THE CITY IS WITHOUT ELECTRICITY OR PASSABLE ROADS.
BUT . . . THE MUCH MALIGNED USPS IS WORKING, FOR BETTER OR WORSE. AND WE DO GET PACKAGES.
Love it!...:-)
SAndy ! yea. nice name .
Never seen another ! now must search high and low for Al's owl!
He would be wonderful to wake up to. Since his head can sit like a tumbler, what about using him as a tumble up? With a black light base he would be a night light too. He is sunlight. What a fortuitous arrival.
