I've never been much of a doll girl but I fell instantly in love with this one. Seems to be in good condition with minor paint wear, clothes are a bit shabby but no broken limbs. The back is marked Japan. I am tempted to say he is chalkware but I'm sure I'm wrong? I would love to know his age, material etc. Any comments are much welcomed, TIA.

Thanks Mani, as late as the 50's huh I was off. That's what makes this site so awesome! Thanks again:)
Here is a similar one . Yours could go into 50's they still produced them not to play with more of shelf doll. It really is most likely 40's though with a possible 30's I doubt that however. I know I have limited my typing just not real well yet:-(
