This is an interesting little WWI veterans medal I found at the local flea market back in October. Textbook Saxon ribbon style with state colors. The abbreviation stands for Königliches Sächsische Militär Verein Saxsonia (which is translated above).
I can never pass up these little patriotic items. Despite being the "losers", the Germans still produced exceptionally well made and beautiful items to honor even the lowliest of soldiers.
