    this was found near Roosevelt House was it FDR's son James just an interesting thought. It is an oil on canvas, very old gold leaf frame 26 X 20.

      Do you have more of a connection than "it was bought near..."?

      Any provenance or OLD writing on the back?

      I was on a tour of the FDR's place when I was younger and I recall the guide saying one of the portraits was missing and they wondered why the girl got more attention than the son in those days maybe from illness , so that stuck in my mind and then I looked up on picturehistory.com and the photo of baby James strikes a similarity to me. There is writing on the back. I will upload another photo .
