Carved Walnut Shell with spoon like stopper. After trying to find out what this item was, I believe it to be a Chinese Snuff Bottle used to hold powdered tobacco during 19th century era. I would love any insight you could offer as I am still unsure of many aspects of this item, but find it very intriguing.
Thank you.

What a charming and most unusual item! How big is it, please? Thank you!
Sorry for my unresponsive drought. I kept trying to find more info on this item through researching until I could no longer see straight! lol. I found a Snuff Bottle Researcher named Dr. Jia Chi Tsou. He offers his knowledge free of charge so I shot him an email. These were his thoughts on the craved walnut and a copy of the email. Pictures were also included in the original:
Dr. Tsou,
I was hoping you could help me identify this item. It is a carved walnut shell with a spoon like plug made of some type of metal. The neck of the spoon, or plug is wrapped with a bandage looking material. I assume this is replacing what use to be a piece of cork, but not sure? ~"(It used to be softwood)"~
Any info about this item would be greatly appreciated.
1. Real original snuff bottle, or fake? ~"Of course. it is a snuff bottle."~
2. Age? ~"Some age but not antique"~
3. Type of metal the spoon would be made from? ~"I think it is silver"~
(appears to be copper, and, or silver)
4.Value, if any? ~"$50~$100 USD"~

He was to the point, and responded rather quickly in my opinion. This gave me more confidence in my own findings based on my research.
Just in case you've found yourself reading this post and have questions regarding a bottle you've come across, this is the link to Dr. Tsou:
