I have a weakness for green glass - especially Loetz Rusticana in interesting shapes. I had an opportunity to buy another piece recently (first pic) and so I did. I now have three pieces.

a good shape can make an ugly decor awesome! I'd have bought any of those three.

I have the piece in the first photo in both Rusticana and Creta Glatt. The middle one, "Zwei-lippen", I have in Rusticana and cobalt Papillon. Love that shape. And the twisted vase I have in Diana Ciselé and Creta Chiné. All very nice shapes, Mac.

A question to you both, I recently aquired what I thought to be a Loetz Rusticana, but then I was reading about Loetz pieces ALWAYS having a pontil mark? Greatsnowyowl, I know you are quite knowledgeable on this type of glass. Either one of you happen to have on opinion on that?

Eek! Not that rumor again! No, that's not true at all. Many of my Rusticana pieces have cut tops and no pontils, and are identifiable by their production number as shown in the line drawings.

The general rule is that if there is a pontil, it should be ground and polished. Of course there are sometimes exceptions to a rule, so some pieces, perhaps a shell with a foot, may not be completely ground down, or for some reason a punty snapped too deeply, and they don't grind the scar out completely.
