    I HAVE THIS ITEM I KNOW IT IS AN ANTIQUE BUT I CANNOT IDENTIFY IT. IS THERE SOME ONE THAT CAN IDENTIFY THIS ITEM IF SO PLEASE EMAIL ME @ jkoren_54@yahoo.com I COLLECT ANTIQUES AND I LIKE THIS ONE. I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE AND MUST BE RARE. LOOKS LIKE SCISSORS BUT THERE NOT WHEN YOU OPEN IT A LITTLE BOX ON TOP OPENS ALSO THEN A BLADE RISES UP THE TOP OF THE BOX..PLEASE HELP ME SOME ONE.....THANK YOU IN advance joe k..

      Another term used is "wick trimmer scissors".
      Do you have the tray?

      Some wicks require regular trimming with scissors (or a specialized wick trimmer), usually to about one-quarter inch (~0.7 cm), to promote slower, steady burning, and also to prevent smoking. In early times, the wick needed to be trimmed quite frequently, and special candle-scissors, referred to as "snuffers" until the 20th century, were produced for this purpose, often combined with an extinguisher.

      Hello, I want to thank all that had participated in Identifying this Item (wick trimmers). It was a big mystery to me. And to answere vetraio50 question ..No , I dont have the tray ..but.. I will be looking for one..Thanks to all.....
