The Betz company was founded in 1895, moved operations to Hammond Imdiana in 1905. By 1937 it was acquired by a St. Louis Company, A. S. Aloe. The remains of the decal did show up while stripping ,but I couldn't save it.
I just got this project finished this weekend.I was told it was taken from a doctors office in 1957 and then used in a embalming room from 1957-2011 when I got it,it had about 100 layers +/- of paint on the glass and all. After scraping that off,I stripped the original white paint off to bare metal ,primed and painted it,polished the nickle plated hinges, screws, and lock assembly. The glass shelves are original and have a bump at the edge to keep stuff from sliding out.
I am using it to store my old and/or restored John Deere farm toys. All of the toys are late 60's or older.
The train is a TT scale ,made by H.P.Products in Hartford City Indiana in the '50s (VERY RARE).Thanks for looking!

Wonderful display! Great restoration job! I really like the glass side panels and the fittings. I seldom see one of these old cabinets with so much glass. A lot of work. : )

Hello! Have too much to do today to visit CW before this evening, but was opening email and saw AR8Jason's delightful banter, and I just had to stop and thank you both for helping make CW such a delightful place. You are full of good cheer and are very generous!!! I am smiling large at the "Deere in captivity". Bless you both! : ))

I don't know how I missed this one. We have one one of these old medical cabinets, one of the few cabinets we have not filled with old toys.

    Great collection of JD!
