If the image is actually on glass, it would be called an ambrotype.
On the left side (as viewed) there appears to be a vertical line showing the edge of the image. This makes your image appear to be a tintype.

you are right there is tow photos one on top of the other the one underneath is on glass,the one you see is between tow bits of glass is this good or bad.
Two photos in one case sounds good to me!
If you can, pls add the other photo to this posting-- I always like looking at antique images.
