I recently aquired this in a blind auction. There were a number of items in the sealed box that were of value but this was wrapped in such a way that I felt the previous owner believed it to be of greater value. It was in a cardboard tube, wrapped in cheese cloth. The tapestry itself, was wrapped again in cotton sheeting and then sealed in a plastic bag.
It measures approximately 19.75 x 19.75 before you add the sewn on embroiderly trim. I believe this was added on by the owner for display purposes and NOT original.
Can anyone tell me if this is a real Gobelins tapestry? Where was it actually made or sold from? Also should I remove the trim before resale?
Thanks
