Swoboda Inc. jewelry is fairly new to me. I love semi-precious gems, but I am not a big fan of uncut highly-polished baroque-shaped stones that Swoboda is so famous for. However, its jewelry designs are beginning to grow on me, and this snake bracelet was the pinnacle of this new-found love. I love snake motifs on jewelry and the color (and stone) combination on this piece was interesting. It is adorned with genuine peridots, opals, and a pair of rubies for the eyes. I know very well that this is a rare piece; it is unsigned and comes with its original paper tag. This means that the bracelet was designed before 1966, after which all their jewelry were signed 'SWOBODA' or 'SWO'. This bracelet was from the personal collection of Nate Waxman, who became a partner in the company until it ceased operations.
