One of my very favorite Loetz decors, this one stands 8" tall and 6" wide.
Unique forms with this surface decor were shown at the following year at the Paris Exhibition in 1900...often called the "lava" vase for obvious reasons. More common pieces are completely covered in the decoration and in my opinion, not as dramatic.

I agree Tony. My PG 377 is decorated all over, and I love these with the solid blue on top. It compliments the 'lava' effect so beautifully. Great example!
