First off please excuse any horrible typos. badly burnt a couple fingers on 1 hand.
2nd what is this shape called?
got this cool piece think older but not sure. the inner glass has brown inclusions that are kind of cloud like. it's cased glass. clear outer and clear or tan inner layer with the cascading inclusionsm, big polished pontil. gunmetal grey but soft iridescent fading to a soft bronze with special textured areas. cool effect. the pics in the window are very bright light making the iridescence look a lot less strong than it actually is but you can see what I mean about the inner layer,

It totally does look like a volcano! I was thinking that too! :) the inkwell possibility is also an interesting one. I don't have any so not sure what one with out insert or metal would look like. it seems too small an squat to be a vase.. but not sure..

it's also very heavy for it's size
