i dont know anything about clocks ,this one has no maker on it also has
a barometer on pendulum and a pat pending on back that says 1890.this
clock was found i goochland va. anyone know any background?

Hello Huey,
It LOOKS like you may have a New Haven "Elbe" circa 1880. If so, you clock would be made of Walnut and would measure 24" high with a 6" dial. The pendulum is not a barometer but rather has a regulation scale to help the owner adjust the speed of the clock's movement.
