Please realize I just posted one of these a while back and my reason was to pay for this one. This one is signed by F. Bazin who was one of the greatest and argued The Greatest mascot designer of mascots in history. The other one I sold to fund this one, and I did extremely well !! I had asked several knowledgeable people about this ones authenticity and was given the thumbs up.
'Triomphe' by F.Bazin. Spirit of Triumph mascot, for Isotta Fraschini car. 1920. Silvered bronze, signed, superb totally original mascot. Photographed and described in Michel Legrand book 'Mascottes Automobiles' Plate 530. This is the rarest of all to locate, and is a totally correct earliest example. Many people copied his style and many companies made their own mascot very similar to this, sometimes nearly identical. Of course there were numerous copies.
Most of the chrome or silver coating is now gone and reverts back to the bronze patina it has aquired over the time of nearly a century. This example came from France, acquired at Osenat car auction Oct 14, 2010, and I just got it today. Osenat is a reputable french auction, and is well rated. Very happy with this score.

Damn, I would love to see your collection. Are you touring it anywhere? I've seen In Search of Alexander & Tower of London (in Toronto) & would like to add yours to me list of "have seen".
So far the only tour comes in Collectors Weekly, but continually working on the collection, mostly plans as original pieces are few, these days. Phil
