I know this knife is vintage, just not sure exactly how old it is.
It belonged to my Grandpa, he died in 1988 and I remember him having it before that. I think he had it a long time.
It measures approx 5 inches long closed, the blade is 3 1/2" long and the serrated about the same, close to 9 " long open.
the blade says republic of Ireland what I can read with a magnifying glass, but there looks like another word on top of republic.
Says 'fish knife' on the side and the 'plastic looking mother of pearl is all there on both sides.
My Grandma left me some cool things like this and I'd just like to know more about them.

almost forgot-there is a slight bit of rust, not gouges or pieces missing. The blades are nice and tight

I had one which had belonged to my father. Resently gave it to my oldest son, as he is an avid fisherman. The serated blade with the pronged end is for fishing. I remember my father usung it when I was a child back in the 50's and 60's.

That prong end was for reaching in and getting your hook out without getting bit. The serrated edge was for peeling off scales on a fish like a pike. The serrations were dull intentionally. They are still sold at flea markets and have been popular for years with fishermen.
