This is an old wooden masher or mallet. It is quite large at 17" long with a head diameter of 4" - I have been told it is an old fruit or potato masher but grandpa said it was used as a mallet to bang in the beam pegs when the barn was built. It is made of solid oak wood and weighs a total of 2 pounds, 2 ounces.
