I resently got this beer sign to give as a gift. It is glass with etched writing with metal around it there is a chain for hanging.I would like to know if it is one some on has just made in their shop, or is it a real advertising sign. It measurers about 18" x 13 1/2". If it is authentic I would like to let them know when I give it to them. Thank you for any help you could give me.

If that is real wood & you believe it to be original, I would suggest keeping it & giving them a 20 yr. old Budweiser sign!
It is genuine. I've had both a complete sign like yours (with a greenish bulb and ballast that illuminates the glass) and currently have an etched glass insert waiting for a frame.Early to mid 50's vintage from G. Heileman Brewing in LaCrosse,WI.
