(129 items)
Purchased at auction, cheap at the end of the sale.
They have Canadian patent dates of 1905 & 1907.
The seat frame is different from others that I've seen.
The seat frame is steam bent Oak, with a tapered lap joint & dowels.
Some fool put gold paint on them, for a faux finish (antiquing).

Want want!!! Love them. Thanks for sharing.
I would agree with you that these are Ice Cream Parlor Chairs. These have a nice design. Do you plan to restore them to a more original type finish?
Thank for sharing these with us.....
@ Ted
I would love to see them with their original finish intact, but not sure that I can get the gold paint off without damaging original finish.
Have you ever seen the bentwood seat frame before?
Thanks for the love & the comments
Thanks for the love & the comment bratjdd.
Thanks for the love, official & Phil.
To walksoftly.....maybe that gold paint was applied thinly, and if so, a mild abrasive might remove it without damaging the original finish.
The bentwood seat is new to me. Perhaps it indicates that this is a rare item? Let us know of the progress on the finish, and of the rarity of he frame.
Have a great day!...Ted

I've been unable to find anything similar to this with the bentwood seat frame & the connecting brackets at the top & underneath the seat.
