Brass Fob
Orange Rifle Powder
Laflin & Rand Powder Co.
New York
The marking on the top of the strap bow I can't quite make out. It appears to be: MARS'L A. (Not sure if this is the makers mark).
No markings on the back.
Laflin & Rand Powder Co. was in business from 1869 - 1908.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

Kevin,
I saw the ebay one you referred to. I have had mine for 10 years or more, but does not mean it isn't a reproduction. The strap on the ebay one hides any markings on the strap bow, if there are any. I was hoping someone could identify that marking.

Kevin,
Don't feel bad about telling me something is fake. I acquire things because I like them and never pay high prices unless I know for sure of what I am getting.
I do this just for fun.
Thanks for your input anytime.
