British/Canadian WW11 Anti Gas/Rain cover for steel helmet. It is made in cammo colours, and is impregnated with linseed oil. I think this one is possibly Canadian made.

I think it might be Canadian too, is the helmet Canadian or British?
British ones were called Anti- Gas Curtain No.2 & were issued from June 1940. The No.1 Anti- Gas Curtain was introduced in 1939 but did'nt cover the whole helmet just the brim, that's why they introduced the No.2. Quite hard to find.
Thanks for the info again tinlid, the helmet is a spare British civil defence one I was just using to keep the Anti-Gas Curtain in shape. I found the gas curtain in a box of assorted rubbish in an antique shop!
