    I have shown this hammer to a number of seasoned tradesmen and no one has any idea as to what it's purpose is or what trade it belongs to. It appears to be some kind of pean hammer. I have found one on the internet that is called a cross pean the one I have is shaped like a pyramid 4 sided. Any help that could be provided would be greatly appreciated.

      It is in more ways than one a classical hammer, specially made ? I have a ball-peen or pien hammer, that has a strake each side of the cheeks, from behind the nose to the ball pien, it is a 24oz job. doubtless old. These queries sure nag ! good luck.
